I would like to ask your permission to post this email as the first Post in
"FOUYE! Vodou"
Forgive me if I am bothering you, but I am very conscious about my Haitian
Heritage; this is why I spent sleepless nights to put this site together.
You see, I too have questions
As far as the subject of vodou is concern, We at fouye.com are going to need
the expertise of someone like yourself, and every one who values and
completely understand Vodou, to enlighten the Haitian Community
There are a few questions I would like to ask you, and I am sure every one
else is also curious about them as well
Therefore, I would like to post them as questions in "Fouye Vodou"
Questions like:
"What is a lwa?, a mystere, a galippotte, a baca, a sanpwel, a bocor, a
houngan, Manbo, a Zombi,
you know, all the basic questions that puzzles everyone of us who know about
vodou only as a myth and who put it in the same category as satanism
Do you see where I am coming from?
People don't teach us these stuff, it's mostly hearsay.
Depi yon moun mouri ayiti, yo di se tiye yo tiye moun nan. Kiyes ki "YO"
If I can create something (FOUYE BEL PAWOL) that make it perfectly clear to
every haitian as to what is culture, and to really understand the bad image
of vodou and to truly differentiate that image from our culture, then I
will consider my efforts a success
We can't deny that something bad exists within the Haitian community, Unless
we can specifically point out what is is, Vodou will always have a bad name
Again, I thank you for taking the time to write the email.
Just remember,
There are a lot of ignorants (unknowing) out there as far as that aspect of
our culture is concerned and I consider myself one of them.
